Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS NLA AND GESTALT LANGUAGE PROCESSING?
Does your child memorize movies or chunks of information? Do they speak with inflection but are difficult to understand? Are they imitating all the words they hear? Gestalt Language Processing is a type of language development where children learn language as scripts, which are whole phrases or chunks of language. Children who learn language this way often begin by learning whole phrases before moving on to single words. Gestalt Language Processing is a common form of language development in autistic children, with an estimated 75 - 90% of autistic children learning language this way.

HOW LONG ARE SPEECH THERAPY SESSIONS?
Our session length is dependent on your child's needs and ability to attend. Our sessions range from 30 to 45 minutes sessions.
WHY DO SOME PARENTS CHOOSE PRIVATE THERAPY?
Many parents prefer for their child to be seen one-on-one as opposed to in group settings which is the model followed in most schools.
WHERE ARE YOUR SERVICES PROVIDED?
We offer services in-office, school, or teletherapy
MY CHILD IS RECEIVING SERVICES AT SCHOOL, WILL YOU WORK ON THE SAME THINGS?
We always welcome the opportunity to collaborate with your school team to ensure there is consistency in the skills we are addressing. In some situations, the school is not addressing areas where a child is delayed if the delay does not meet the school's criteria to receive services. Private speech therapy services allow us the freedom to address all areas of need and align our goals and treatment plan with your specific concerns and your child's needs.
WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
We accept credit/debit cards as well as HSA and FSA cards. If we are not in-network with your insurance, or your insurance does not cover the services we are providing, payment is due at the time of service.

We also accept payment through the Katie Beckett program, which supports children under the age of 18 with disabilities or complex medical needs who are not Medicaid eligible because of their parent’s income or assets. Please click here for more information about the Katie Beckett waiver.
